It is highly important to select the best Corms in order to ensure proper growth. A Gladiolus corm should be firm, large, and plump, as they can produce strong plants with tall spikes and healthy blooms. Smaller corms are also good; however, they take time to grow and produce fewer flowers. Choosing the corms depends on what the gardeners want to grow. When and Where to Plant Gladiolus

This step helps in improving fertility and drainage of the soil. The corms should ideally be planted at an appropriate depth. If the corms are large, then they should be planted almost 10-15 cm deep, and if they are small, they can be put 5-7 cm deep inside the soil. There should be proper space between the corms. The ideal space should be 12 cm. This gives the plant good space to grow. The pointed side of the corm should face upwards, and then it should be covered with soil. 

Caring for Gladiolus During the Growing Season

The Gladiolus flower requires proper moisture during the growing season. But it should not be completely wet. If the plant is properly watered, then it can produce tall stems and healthy blooms. While applying fertilizers, it should be checked that the fertilizer is rich in potassium. Weed removal is also essential as it can take away the nutrients from the plant.
